Cloud Is Beautiful To Behold

Yesterday, as I was working
while listening to some favourite music,
I looked up through the large window
and saw
there was a delicate grey layer
of soft cloud
moving quietly to cover the blue sky.
A fluffy white patch
was shining sadly and sweetly,
gentle inner workings unknowable.
The atmospheric sadness passed overhead,
a tragic reminder, for preparedness.
Fluffy grey blanket,
I watch fine fibres stretching,
like linking hands, friends.
Suddenly the grey cloud darkens –
there’s an edge, strength, power,
and the breeze quickens
but the heavy cloud lingers above.
Cloud is majestic,
beautiful and fascinating
because it displays extremes.
It is impossible for man
to control the weather.
Don’t hold it in contempt.
